Can your Mac run it?
Block says Dessa runs locally on a MacBook Pro M4 Max or better. It has not supplied a minimum memory requirement on the checked page.

What remains unknown
Minimum memory, disk space, operating-system version, model size and a detailed supported-chip list have not been verified. There is no measured speed comparison here. A Mac that can run another speech model is not thereby confirmed to run Dessa.
Before buying hardware, wait for published requirements and an installable release. If you want to test a local workflow today, our separate launcher prototype uses Whisper for transcription. It does not demonstrate Dessa performance.
